Welcome to Swineshead Silver Band founded in 1886 although in its formative years it was known as Swineshead Brass Band. The first public playing the band undertook that year was Christmas Carol playing in the village, a tradition that the present band still upholds. The band has had many homes over the years; the first one being the Red Lion Public House and subsequently meetings were held in the Green Dragon, The Elephant and Castle and The Bull. The Band has its own bandroom in South Street, Swineshead, (opposite the Fish and Chip shop).

The band is self funding, all monies being raised by subscription, donation or playing fees. The band is active throughout the year playing at garden fetes, indoor concerts, church services, carol concerts and traditional carol playing around the village as well as taking part in local and national brass band contests.

In this website we hope that you will find details of our history, players, engagements, as well as information about contests, the music we play and view the band in our photo gallery. In addition you can keep in contact with the band's activities though our list of engagements and our monthly newsletter.
